Be Part of a Scientific Study in Dahab from 28 October - 2 November 2024
Dear athletes,
The scientific study "Detection of gas bubbles in blood stream of apnea divers with ultrasound" will be conducted in Dahab at the Blue Hole from October 28 to November 02, 2024.
The main objective of the study is to assess the presence of gas micro bubbles in the bloodstream and cardiac cavities after breath hold dive. This study is very important for understanding of DCS in freedivers and development of risk management approach.
Who can participate:
We are looking for the volunteers to participate in the study. You may participate if you are able and plan to perform a deep (depth 50 m and deeper) breath hold dive and have the medical certificate of non-contraindication to freediving.
You can’t participate if you have any contraindication to freediving according to “Contraindications to Freediving”. Statement from the Medical and Science Committee. AIDA International. May 25, 2021 [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1C9V0M911vODTRA_sWOaUW5xF86X0N_T1] or had freediving injury (black out, lung barotrauma, decompression sickness, ear injury) within the previous 2 months.
