AIDA Supports New Study on Long-Term Effects of Prematurity on Breath-Hold Activities in Adults
The AIDA Medical & Science Committee is pleased to announce the planning of a new scientific study about the potential impact of premature birth on breath-holding capabilities.
This study will be run from March to August 2022 in cooperation with Professor Costantino Balestra Ph.D; Associate Professor Dr. Oleg Melikhov, M.D.,Ph.D; and Juan M. Valdivia, M.D., FAANS.
Through this study the research team is expecting to better understand tolerance to hypoxia and hypercapnia, as well as cooperate with Divers Alert Network (DAN) in scientific research.
Study subjects will include 2016-2021 top-50 AIDA international ranking individuals from the following disciplines: STA, DNF, DYN, CNF, FIM and CWT.
