AIDA Plans Collaboration with Vertical Blue
AIDA has signed an agreement with Vertical Blue for the use of their Professional Safety Freediving program with the goal of collaborating to create a unique standard for freediving safety management in competitions and to generate three new safety courses for AIDA freedivers.
Vertical Blue, hosted at Dean’s Blue Hole, is one of the most prestigious and long-running annual freediving events in the world. It was founded in 2008 by William Trubridge and continues to grow every year.
The Professional Safety Freediving program, created by VB partner and long-time Chief of Safety Marco Cosentino, is aimed at all freedivers who want to improve their techniques and knowledge for optimal management of their own freediving safety and that of their students or dive partners.
The program was first presented in 2019 at Y-40, the deepest pool in the world, and it has been successfully used in several depth world championships and other international competitions, including the 27th AIDA World Championship to facilitate the training of the safety team ahead of the competition
